A.J. graduated from Concordia University Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education with a Specialization in Youth Ministry. A.J. is originally from New York, yet has moved around so much that he claims to no longer have an accent. He enjoys playing the piano, spending time with his wife, Kristen, trying new things, and eating delicious food; he once ate 37 chicken wings during an impromptu eating contest with friends while on a mission trip!

Christy grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and has lived in Colorado since July of 1999. She has a Masters Degree in Finance from CSU. In her free time she enjoys reading, camping, fishing, traveling and watching football. She has been married to her husband Matt since 2017, and has 2 kids.

Phil grew up in South Australia, before spending over a decade in London. During his time in London, he worked on the pastoral staff of Hillsong Church, overseeing the children's and teaching ministries for a congregation of around 13,000 people. In 2016, Phil brought his family to Colorado and took on teaching and administration roles in Douglas County School District and Denver Public Schools. He completed his undergraduate teaching degree at Tabor College Adelaide, his Masters in Education at the University of Newcastle, and wrote his doctoral thesis at King's College London. When not in school, Phil spends much of his time exploring the mountains with his two delightful children and a chocolate labrador puppy named Milo. 

Kadie is originally from Mobile, Alabama, and attended Concordia University, Texas, where she earned her degree in Christian Education. She has served in ministry as a called worker since 2013, and has worked with kids and churches since 2010. She loves the outdoors like going for hikes and to the beach. She has a passion for sharing the love of Christ with kids and helping parents to be the primary teachers of the faith to their children.

Matt grew up in California. He graduated from Concordia University, Irvine, and received his first call to teach at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and School. He then transitioned into youth ministry and was the Youth Director for four years. He became St. John's Director of Youth Ministries in 2012, and is also currently St. John's School's Middle School Advisor. He enjoys working through the Word and his faith in a community setting with peers and youth so that each can be raised up in discipleship of Christ! Matt has two great kids, Cassidy and Phoenix.

Sherri has enjoyed working at St. John's since 2007. She is a Denver native married to John, also a Denver native, since 1991. Sherri loves to play golf and hang out with her three adult kids (two in the Denver area, one in Austin, TX) and her sweet granddaughter. The Stegeman family has attended St. John's for many years and have a passion for serving this community.

Alli grew up in Illinois. She met her husband, Cody, while they were studying abroad in Spain. After spending several years in South America, in 2012 they found their way to Denver and ever since have been enjoying the mountains and Colorado sunshine with their three amazing kids.

Benjamin grew up Mennonite and his mom was a musician, so he was immersed in the world of Christian music from a young age. It wasn't until the year after college that God captured his heart for worship and he began leading worship at a House Church. This was where God taught him what leading worship is all about. After 4 years, God brought me out of the house church life and back to the corporate church to integrate what I learned in the secret place of worship at the house church. I can say it brings me much excitement and joy to join St. Johns Lutheran and help cultivate an atmosphere of true heart worship as we sing songs every week to our creator.

Matt received both his Bachelor of Music degree and Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. He has been organist and classic service leader at St. John’s and the Kirk of Bonnie Brae since 2001. He is also a part time accompanist for the Colorado Children’s Chorale and The Aurora Singers. Since 2013, Matthew has been the full-time accompanist for all seven choirs at Denver East High School.
